Yesterday, I had bad headache. It started when i sat out with sunlight directly hitting my front head (generally i sit like that so sunlight hit my back).
When i came back to work, I heard few of my colleague's spouse has migraine since long time and they were finding very hard to deal with it. Then I decided I need to do some research and find out why it's happening and then i can do something to get rid of it.
If you have chronic migraine then it takes some discipline in your life to overcome it but in this blog I'm going to talk about acute migraine (which does not occurs often).
Serotonin drops from brain blood stream thus blood vessel become narrow, then body tries to widen the blood vessel and that's when migraine starts.
- I started listening some raga for migraine relief (just googled and played it). It helped a little. (but this optional step)
- Sit in Padmasan or Bajraasan,
- Take a deep breath-in
- deep breath-out (remove air from your stomach too) and then open your mouth wide open (as much as you can) and hold it like that (as long as you can)
- Repeat Step 3 and 4 for 10 times.
- Just relax for 2 mins
- Take a deep breath-in
- Breath-out and hold your intestine area and whole head and mouth area tight and hold it as long as you can.
- Repeat Step 7 and 8 five to ten times.
- After this relax and focus between your eyebrows for 5 mins
- Focus top of your head for mins. ( you can do this longer if you want).
If you want Serotonin not to drop do following
- Have a deep sleep every night for at least 4 hours. If you do not sleep deeply enough then you need 8 hours of sleep (you need to relax in bed when you go to sleep. This way you can deep sleep and now mind can do their maintenance job ).
- Have a healthy food habit.
- Observe yourself what makes your migraine aggravate it; If cold air is the culprit wear cap on your head if Sun in the culprit, avoid direct sunlight on your head.
